Swedish brand Debresk was founded by Joris Dekkers, Konrad Breidenstein and Anders Skånberg (the initials of their last names together form the name 'Debresk'), three school friends that met again some years later, and started to make wooden toys together.
In 1987, Joris, Konrad and Anders founded their company in an old corn storehouse on a biodynamic farm. Their vision, which is still current today, was to produce quality toys to replace the 'wear, tear and throw away' culture. Instead, they wanted to create something to cherish and protect.
While playing, children develop their relationship to the world. As they learn to take care of their toys, they grow up in a world that is worth to be taken care of. Also, playing stimulates fantasy and creativity. It is Debresk's intention to contribute to a feeling of balance and harmony between the different senses and the intellect of the playing child.
